Newborn Photography
Who knew that a tiny newborn could cause such a monumental change to your life? As you come to know every inch of that miraculous little body, you're astounded to realize that from the moment they're born, they begin to grow away from you. But for now, you rejoice in their mere existence. Newborn photography is one of the way to remember those fleeting moments and to create images that will last forever. NYC newborn photographer, Clare Fisher specializes in capturing all the little features of the newborn baby itself, the tiny hands and feet, the razor sharp fingernails, the wrinkles on the back, the little breastfeeding blister on the upper lip...all details that will disappear within a few weeks but that can be captured during a newborn photography session.
Newborn Photographer NYC
Clare creates most of her images in her NYC studio. It is here that she has lots of props, blankets and the different backgrounds to create her beautiful images. As an experienced portrait photographer, Clare knows how to light her subjects in the most flattering light. Most of her newborn images are don using the gorgeous, natural light that pours into her white and bright photography studio, but if the need arises, rest assured that Clare will have all the lighting equipment necessary. Some of the advantages of having your baby photography session in the studio are that you will have access to all of these props, lots of space and the abundance of natural light without the worry and time needed to clear an area of your home. As a New York City resident herself, Clare knows that a lot of NYC apartments can be small and lacking in light and as a mom, she remembers all the stuff that suddenly comes with the arrival of that new baby.
When is the Best Time to do a Newborn Photography Session?
Newborn baby photography is best done when the baby is 5-10 days old. Seems early doesn’t it? Newborn portraits are done that early since they sleep most of the time, are still used to being all curled up like when they were in the womb and this makes it easier to create all those lovely, peaceful photographs of your little baby. As your baby gets older, they like to move around a lot while they are awake, making all those jerky little karate moves that can make them hard to photograph. They also like to stretch out more, enjoying their new found freedom, changing ever so fast from the moment when they were born.
Older babies, up to 6 weeks, can still be photographed they just might not be able to do all the poses.
